Hunters of Dune and Sandworms of Dune complete the story Frank Herbert left unfinished at his death in 1986, based on his notes and outlines. They continue directly from Chapterhouse: Dune and resolve the ultimate fate of the Scattering, the mysterious Honored Matres, and the destiny of humanity.

• Hunters of Dune (2006): The no-ship Ithaca flees through the universe; gholas of key historical figures are grown aboard.
• Sandworms of Dune (2007): The final confrontation between humanity and the Enemy from outside the known universe.
