National Institute of Technology Tiruchirappalli (NIT Trichy or NITT), established in 1964 as Regional Engineering College Tiruchirappalli, is widely regarded as one of India's top 3 NITs and one of the premier engineering institutions nationally. Consistently ranked in the top 10–12 engineering institutions in India by NIRF, NIT Trichy holds NAAC A++ accreditation. Located in Tanjore Main Road, Tiruchirappalli (Trichy), Tamil Nadu, the 800-acre campus is one of the largest NIT campuses in India.
