House of the Dragon Season 2 premiered June 16, 2024 on HBO. The Game of Thrones prequel series — set 200 years before GoT — depicts the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. Season 2 escalates the conflict between Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D'Arcy) and King Aegon II (Tom Glynn-Carney) to full-scale dragonrider war, featuring the Blood and Cheese assassination, the Battle at Rook's Rest, and the death of Meleys.
