Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) is a premier public technological university established in 1971 by the Government of Kerala, located in Kalamassery, Kochi. One of India's leading science and technology universities, CUSAT holds a NAAC A accreditation and consistently features in the NIRF top 40–50 universities. The university offers 200+ programmes across Engineering, Science, Technology, Law, Management, Humanities, and Fine Arts through 50+ departments and schools. CUSAT is especially well regarded for its Schools of Engineering, Computer Science, Marine Sciences, Law, and Management. The university has significant research output in areas of photonics, marine technology, environmental science, and computational sciences, with active collaborations with DRDO, ISRO, CSIR, and international universities. CUSAT's School of Marine Sciences is one of the few of its kind in India with access to Kerala's coastal research infrastructure. The 157-acre campus at Kalamassery is the main campus, with satellite campuses at Thrissur and Alappuzha. The university's annual cultural Dhanak and technical fest Tathva (jointly with NIT Calicut for regional events) draw thousands of participants. Graduates of CUSAT hold key positions in Indian IT companies (Infosys, TCS, Cognizant), research institutions, and international technology firms.
