Madras Christian College

Madras Christian College (MCC), established in 1837 by the Church of Scotland, is one of Asia's oldest and most prestigious liberal arts colleges. Located in Tambaram, Chennai, on a beautifully forested 172-acre campus, MCC is autonomous and affiliated to the University of Madras. The college holds NAAC A+ accreditation and has produced an extraordinary range of alumni — eminent scientists, Nobel laureates, judges, politicians, and artists — reflecting its tradition of holistic, values-driven education. MCC is particularly renowned for its science departments: Chemistry, Zoology, Physics, and Botany are regarded as among the finest in South India, as is the Economics department. The college offers BA, BSc, BCom, MA, MSc, and MCom programmes with an intake of approximately 5,000 students.
