Presidency University Kolkata, formerly Presidency College, is one of India's most storied and elite academic institutions. Founded in 1817 as Hindu College — making it over 200 years old — and renamed Presidency College in 1855, it became an autonomous university in 2010. Located on College Street in the heart of Kolkata, Presidency University holds a NAAC A+ accreditation and is renowned for its small, high-quality intake of approximately 3,000 students.
