Ather Energy is India's pioneering electric two-wheeler company, founded in 2013 by IIT Madras graduates Tarun Mehta and Swapnil Jain in Bengaluru. Ather designed India's first truly smart electric scooter — the 450 series with touchscreen dashboards, OTA updates, and connected features — and built the Ather Grid public fast-charging network across Indian cities. Its Rizta family scooter broadened the lineup beyond performance riders, and the company went public on Indian exchanges in May 2025. Backed early by Hero MotoCorp and Tiger Global, Ather manufactures at its Hosur factory and is known for its engineering-first culture, its Ather Community Days, and detailed transparency content about EV design and testing.
