About Me
Intel is the company that made Silicon Valley silicon: founded in 1968 by Robert Noyce and Gordon Moore (of Moore's Law), it invented the microprocessor in 1971 and powered the PC revolution with its x86 architecture and the famous "Intel Inside" campaign. Headquartered in Santa Clara, Intel designs and manufactures Core processors for PCs and Xeon for data centres, and is executing one of the most ambitious turnarounds in tech — building new fabs in Arizona and Ohio under the US CHIPS Act while opening its foundry to outside customers to compete with TSMC. Intel India, centred on a major Bengaluru design campus, is one of its largest engineering sites worldwide and a key contributor to its chip design and validation.
