Starbucks is the world's largest coffeehouse company, founded in Seattle in 1971 and built into a global brand by Howard Schultz. It operates tens of thousands of stores across more than 80 markets, pioneering the "third place" between home and work. Its Starbucks Rewards app is one of retail's most successful loyalty programmes. In India, Starbucks operates as Tata Starbucks — a 50:50 joint venture with Tata Consumer Products launched in 2012 — with hundreds of stores across major cities, locally-inspired menu items, and Indian-sourced arabica through Tata Coffee. The brand is a fixture of café culture content across Instagram and YouTube worldwide.
