About Me
Aravinda de Silva is one of Sri Lanka's greatest batters and one of cricket's most destructive middle-order players of the 1990s. He played the innings of his life in the 1996 Cricket World Cup final — scoring 107 not out against Australia to guide Sri Lanka to their first and only World Cup title. A flamboyant, attacking right-hander who played with flair and creativity, he is an ICC Cricket Hall of Fame inductee and former captain of the Sri Lanka national team.
