Ayan Mukerji is a Bollywood director best known for the Brahmastra trilogy — India's first superhero cinematic universe. A protégé of Karan Johar, he debuted with Wake Up Sid (2009) and followed with Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani (2013), one of the highest-grossing Hindi romantic films ever. Brahmastra: Part One – Shiva (2022), starring Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt, became a massive box office success and marked the beginning of the Astraverse.
