Satya Nadella

Satya Nadella is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Microsoft. Born in Hyderabad in 1967, he studied electrical engineering at Manipal Institute of Technology before completing an MS at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School. He joined Microsoft in 1992 and led its cloud transformation as head of Cloud and Enterprise before becoming CEO in February 2014 — succeeding Steve Ballmer and only the third CEO in the company's history. Under Nadella, Microsoft transformed into a cloud- and AI-first company: Azure became the world's number-two cloud, Microsoft acquired LinkedIn, GitHub, Activision Blizzard, and forged the landmark partnership with OpenAI. Microsoft has repeatedly crossed the $3 trillion market-cap mark under his tenure. He received the Padma Bhushan in 2022 and is one of technology's most respected CEOs, known for the "growth mindset" culture he introduced.
