Legends of Dune Series

Legends of Dune is the second prequel trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, set 10,000 years before the original Dune. It dramatises the Butlerian Jihad — humanity's war against thinking machines — which forms the foundational mythology of the entire Dune universe.

• The Butlerian Jihad (2002): Serena Butler ignites the holy war against Omnius and the robot legions of the Synchronized Worlds.
• The Machine Crusade (2003): The human League of Nobles wages a century of war; jihad legends are born.
• The Battle of Corrin (2004): The final confrontation destroys the thinking machines; the foundations of Spacing Guild, Suk doctors, and Mentats are laid.
