Data Deletion Policy
Last Updated: April 2026EaseOfBiz is committed to your privacy and your right to control your personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP). This page explains how you can delete your account, what data is removed, and what data must be retained due to the nature of our verified collaboration graph and financial compliance laws.
1. How to Delete Your Account
You have the right to permanently delete your EaseOfBiz profile and associated personal data at any time directly from your dashboard. No email to support is required.
- Log in to your EaseOfBiz account.
- Navigate to your Portfolio Manager / Studio.
- Go to the Settings or Account tab.
- Scroll to the bottom and select Delete Profile / Account.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm permanent deletion.
2. What Happens When You Delete Your Account
Account deletion is a permanent, irreversible action. Upon confirmation, the following actions occur immediately:
- Handle Release: Your
@handleis immediately relinquished and your public profile URL (easeofbiz.com/@yourhandle) is unpublished. The handle becomes available for others to claim. - Personal Data Purged: Your bio, contact information, social media links, profile photos, uploaded portfolio media, and generated media kits are permanently deleted from our active servers.
- Services Removed: Any active services or booking packages you have listed are immediately taken offline.
- Creator Directory: Your profile is removed from our search index and brand discovery directories.
3. Data We Must Retain (The Collaboration Graph)
EaseOfBiz operates a verified professional collaboration graph. Your data deletion rights intersect with the rights of other professionals to maintain their immutable, credit histories.
To preserve the integrity of the graph without violating your privacy, when you delete your account:
- Your active link (
@handle) will be stripped from all past project credits. - Your credit will be converted into a non-linked, plain-text name (a “ghost credit”) on the project owner’s page to accurately reflect that you worked on the project, but it will no longer trace back to any active profile or personal data.
4. Financial and Booking Records
If you have used the EaseOfBiz Commerce layer to sell services or accept bookings, we are legally required to retain specific transactional data.
- Tax & Compliance: Records of transactions, invoices, and commissions paid are retained for a minimum of 8 years to comply with Indian taxation, accounting, and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations.
- Anonymization: While the financial record is kept, it is decoupled from your public profile. We retain only the data necessary (such as legal name, transaction IDs, and amounts) to satisfy regulatory audits.
5. Backup Retention
While your public data is removed immediately upon deletion, encrypted remnants of your data may remain in our routine server backups for up to 90 days before being permanently overwritten. These backups are strictly access-controlled and are never used to restore a user-deleted account.
6. Requesting Manual Assistance
If you lose access to your account, or if you are the legal representative of an incapacitated or deceased user and wish to request data deletion, please contact our legal team directly.

Note: Manual deletion requests from unauthenticated emails will require identity verification to prevent unauthorized account deletion.
Removal Requests from Non-Users
If you have never registered an account on EaseOfBiz but your name or professional credits appear on the Platform (for example, on an auto-generated “ghost profile” or on a seeded project page sourced from public databases), you have the right to request removal of your personally identifying information.
What you can request
- ▸ Removal of your name from a ghost profile
- ▸ Removal of a contact email address associated with your ghost profile (stored encrypted — this email is never displayed publicly)
- ▸ Correction or removal of factual errors in credits attributed to you on project pages
How to submit a non-user removal request

- 2Include: your full name as it appears on the profile, the URL of the profile or project page, and a brief statement confirming you have not registered an EaseOfBiz account
- 3We will verify the request and respond within 30 days. We may request reasonable verification of your identity to prevent fraudulent removal requests.
- 4We will confirm removal by email when the action is complete.

If you would prefer to take ownership of the credits attributed to you rather than delete them, you can claim your ghost profile at easeofbiz.com/claim/. All credits transfer to your verified account and you gain full control of your public profile.
