EaseOfBiz (“we”, “our”, “the Platform”) is operated by EASE OF BIZ, 101, Building No. 0399, Ghansoli Gaon, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra India 400701. We provide a professional identity, verified collaboration graph, and creator commerce platform at easeofbiz.com.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, process, store, and protect personal data — both for registered users and for individuals whose data appears on the Platform from public sources. It applies to all EaseOfBiz services and is governed by India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act, 2023 and other applicable data protection law.
By creating an account or using any EaseOfBiz service, you agree to the practices described here. If you disagree, please discontinue use and contact us to request data removal.
Data We Collect
Account & Profile Information
- ▸ Name, @handle, email address, and profile photo
- ▸ Professional bio, niche, city, social media handles, and portfolio links
- ▸ Work history and collaboration credits you add to the Platform
- ▸ Phone number (optional; used only for WhatsApp-linked notifications where enabled)
Booking & Commerce Data
- ▸ Session booking details: requester name, contact information, selected service, and enquiry notes
- ▸ Digital product purchase records and download order history
- ▸ Event attendance and ticket purchase records
- ▸ Brand collaboration application records
- ▸ Bank account or UPI details provided for creator payout processing (encrypted in transit; not stored on EaseOfBiz servers — held by our payment processors)
Communications
- ▸ Messages exchanged between creators and clients via the in-platform messaging system
- ▸ Support tickets and correspondence with our team
- ▸ Broadcast emails you send to your subscriber list (metadata only; content is stored and transmitted on your behalf)
Usage & Technical Data
- ▸ IP address, browser type, device identifiers, and operating system
- ▸ Pages visited, features used, and session duration (server-side analytics)
- ▸ Search queries submitted on the Platform (search terms only; not linked to individual profiles for non-users)
- ▸ Cookies and similar technologies to maintain sessions and measure performance (see Cookies section)
Non-User & Ghost Profile Data
EaseOfBiz operates a professional collaboration graph. When a registered user tags a collaborator who is not yet on the Platform, or when our enrichment pipeline sources data from public databases (see next section), we may create a “ghost profile” — a placeholder that holds attributed professional credits on behalf of the absent individual.
What ghost profile data we hold
- ▸ Name (as provided by the tagger, or as found in public databases — see Enriched Data section below)
- ▸ Attributed professional credits (e.g., “appeared in Film X as Role Y”)
- ▸ Contact email address — if provided by a registered user who tagged this person as a collaborator. This email is stored encrypted using AES-256-CBC and is used solely to send a one-time invitation to claim the profile. It is never displayed publicly and is not shared with any third party.
Lawful basis
We process ghost profile data on the following grounds, subject to legal confirmation:
- ▸ Publicly available personal data (DPDP Act 2023, Section 7(e)): Where data is sourced from public databases such as Wikidata (released under CC0 licence), we rely on the publicly available data exemption.
- ▸ Legitimate use (DPDP Act 2023, Section 7(d)): Maintaining a verifiable, immutable professional credit record serves the legitimate interests of the registered users who earned and verified those credits, even where the credited individual has not yet registered.
Your rights if you have a ghost profile
If a profile exists under your name on EaseOfBiz and you have not registered, you have two options:
- ▸ Claim your profile: Register at easeofbiz.com/claim/ and verify your identity. The professional credits held in your ghost profile will transfer to your verified account. You then control all profile data.
- ▸ Request removal: If you do not wish to claim the profile and want the data removed, email [email protected] with your name and the profile URL. We will remove your personally identifying information (name, contact email) within 30 days. Note: professional credits attributed to your work by verified third parties may be retained in anonymised form to preserve the integrity of other users’ credit histories — this retention and its scope is subject to legal review.
Enriched / Public-Source Data
To build a useful professional graph, EaseOfBiz supplements user-submitted data with information sourced from public databases. This section explains what sources we use and what data is included.
Data sources
- ▸ Wikidata (wikidata.org): A freely licensed knowledge base operated by the Wikimedia Foundation, released under the CC0 1.0 Universal public domain dedication. We use Wikidata to source publicly documented professional credits — film roles, music album credits, book authorship, and similar factual career data — for public figures whose professional work is already in the public record.
- ▸ User-submitted data: Registered users may tag collaborators on their own projects. These credits are attributed based on the tagger’s representation and are verified through our flag/dispute system.
Accuracy and corrections
Data sourced from Wikidata is published as-is from the source database. EaseOfBiz does not independently verify the accuracy of third-party public-source data. If you believe a credit or fact attributed to you on EaseOfBiz is incorrect, you may:
- ▸ Registered users: use the Flag function on the relevant credit or project page.
- ▸ Non-registered individuals: email [email protected] with the URL of the relevant page, the incorrect information, and what the correct information should be. We aim to review correction requests within 30 days.
How We Use Your Data
- ▸ Provide and personalise your profile, studio, portfolio, and creator commerce experience
- ▸ Process bookings, digital product purchases, event tickets, and subscription payments
- ▸ Send transactional emails — booking confirmations, payment receipts, broadcast deliveries, and security alerts — via Brevo (our email delivery provider)
- ▸ Send platform operational emails: collaboration invitations to ghost-profile holders, nudges for unclaimed credits, and event updates
- ▸ Enforce our Terms of Service and Code of Conduct; detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- ▸ Analyse aggregate platform performance (using anonymised, aggregated data only — not individual tracking)
- ▸ Comply with legal obligations under applicable Indian and international law
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data to train or fine-tune third-party AI or machine learning models. We do not use your data for advertising targeting on this Platform or on third-party platforms.
Payments & Payouts
- ▸ All payment processing is handled by licensed, RBI-regulated gateways (Cashfree, PhonePe) for INR transactions, and by PayPal for international (USD and other currency) transactions
- ▸ Card numbers, CVVs, and UPI PINs are never transmitted to or stored on EaseOfBiz servers — all sensitive payment credential data is handled exclusively by the payment gateway
- ▸ Creator payout details (bank account number, UPI ID) are encrypted in transit and at rest. Payout processing is handled by our payment gateway providers under their own compliance frameworks
- ▸ Transaction records are retained for 7 years as required by Indian financial and tax regulations
- ▸ EaseOfBiz is not a bank or payment gateway and is not liable for holds, delays, or disputes imposed by third-party payment processors
Security
TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit · AES-256-CBC encryption for sensitive data at rest (including ghost profile contact emails) · Cloudflare DDoS protection and Web Application Firewall · AWS-hosted infrastructure · Bcrypt-hashed passwords with salting · Two-factor authentication available for all accounts · Regular security reviews

Your Rights
Under the DPDP Act 2023 and applicable regulations, you have the following rights over your personal data. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

- ▸ Correction: Update inaccurate or incomplete data on your profile
- ▸ Erasure: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data (see Data Deletion Policy for full detail on what is and isn’t deleted)
- ▸ Objection: Object to processing of your data for non-essential purposes
- ▸ Portability: Receive your profile data in a machine-readable format upon request
- ▸ Grievance: Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Board of India

We reserve the right to update this Privacy Policy periodically. Material changes will be notified via email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.

Publicly accessible profile data
When you create a profile on EaseOfBiz and choose to publish it, you consent to the following fields being publicly accessible to anyone, including journalists, researchers, brands, and search engines, without requiring an account:
- Professional name and @handle
- Niche, profession, and city
- Verified project credits and collaboration history, labelled with their verification tier (Transaction Verified, Enriched, or Self-Reported)
- Booking availability and service listings
- Media kit (where you have enabled it)
This data is made public solely because you chose to publish your profile. You may restrict public access at any time by setting your profile to unlisted from account settings, or by exercising your right to erasure.
Private contact details, financial information, messages, and booking communications are never public.
Your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India)
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you have the right to access, correct, update, or erase your personal data held by EaseOfBiz. To exercise any of these rights, write to [email protected].
