About

C.S. Lewis's Space Trilogy — also called the Cosmic or Ransom Trilogy — is a philosophical science fiction series exploring Christian themes of good vs evil across three worlds. Philologist Dr. Elwin Ransom travels to Mars, Venus, and confronts cosmic evil on Earth itself.

  • Out of the Silent Planet (1938): Ransom is kidnapped to Malacandra (Mars) and discovers alien cultures untouched by the Fall.
  • Perelandra (1943): Ransom travels to Perelandra (Venus) to prevent a Satanic temptation of its unfallen Eve.
  • That Hideous Strength (1945): A sinister technocratic institute plots to enslave Britain; Merlin and Arthurian forces intervene.
