Chaminda Vaas is Sri Lanka's most celebrated fast bowler — taking 355 Test wickets at 29.58, making him the country's all-time highest wicket-taker in Tests. He achieved cricket's rarest feat: a hat-trick on the first ball of a match (vs Zimbabwe, 2001). He was pivotal in Sri Lanka's continued Test cricket excellence after their 1996 World Cup win. His swing bowling destroyed batting lineups globally.
