Deewar (1975), directed by Yash Chopra, is the film that made Amitabh Bachchan 'The Angry Young Man of Bollywood'. Amitabh plays Vijay — a dockyard worker who becomes a criminal. The film's iconic dialogue and Amitabh's raw, electrifying performance launched a new era in Indian cinema. Released the same year as Sholay, 1975 was Amitabh's annus mirabilis. Deewar remains one of the 10 greatest Indian films ever made.
