Jio's True5G rollout took standalone 5G from launch (October 2022, starting with Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Varanasi) to essentially nationwide coverage by 2024 — among the fastest large-scale 5G deployments ever completed. The rollout was accompanied by the Jio Welcome Offer of unlimited 5G data, JioAirFiber fixed-wireless home broadband built on the 5G network, and a wave of coverage from India's tech-review community benchmarking speeds city by city. Tech YouTubers, gadget reviewers, and telecom analysts produced thousands of pieces of rollout coverage across the campaign period.
